– Standard Pedestal Sink Dimensions – 17″ x 27″ x 36.” This dimension does not take into consideration the height of the lip (rim) around pedestal sinks which will vary according to style and manufacturer.

How far should a bathroom sink be from the edge of the counter?
From an A & E Factory Service representative: For a new installation, the following is required of the faucet manufacturer by code.
ANSI states there must be a minimum of 1-1/2″ from the front edge of the sink to any part, fitting, or device mounted on or attached to the wall adjacent to where the faucet is installed. There also has to be at least 3″ clearance between where a handle would turn on and come in contact with a vertical surface within 24″ up from and including the floor.
This applies whether it is a single or double-handled lavatory faucet. The current model number for a Lav Faucet on the A & E website is RV-193. This is a new requirement as of January 1995 and is included under section 29.7.4.1, lavatory faucets.
From an OSHA representative: No such law exists however it is sound practice to provide at least 12″ clearance from the edge of the basin to any object that can catch or interfere with the use of your faucet or fixture.
How do you measure a bathroom sink?
To figure out your sink size, you will need to measure the width of the sink basin. The most common bathroom sinks are 8″ or 10″ wide. If you have a double vanity with two basins that are 8″ wide, then you would just get one of these standard-sized sinks.
You will also want to measure the height of your existing countertop above the base cabinets (where the wall usually is). The standard height for kitchen counters is 36″, but it can vary quite a bit in bathrooms. I’ve seen them anywhere from 21″ up to 48″.
You will also want to measure the length of your countertop or cabinet space where this faucet is going; this will help determine how long your faucet and drain piping will need to be.

Do I need a plumber’s putty and how much do I use?
Yes, a plumber’s putty or caulk must be used between the sink and the countertop to create a water-tight seal.
How do you install this faucet?
This faucet is very easy to install. We recommend that you read through the installation instructions thoroughly, then follow these steps:
1) Turn off your water supply at your shut-off valve.
2) Remove any existing caulk between the sink and countertop using a utility knife or razor blade scraper.
3) Clean out any debris from the sink basin and countertop, making sure they are completely dry before proceeding with the installation.
4) Insert the gasket provided into the drain assembly; it should fit snugly around both ends of the drain by pushing it all the way into place.
5) Apply a plumber’s putty or caulk around the sink deck opening. Push the faucet straight down onto the sink deck until it sits flat against it. Check for even spacing on all sides.
6) Tighten the mounting nuts underneath by hand, then use a wrench to tighten them a little more (this ensures a water-tight seal between the faucet and countertop).
7) Open your water supply line and check for any leaks.
Do I need an escutcheon plate?
No, this faucet does not require an escutcheon plate unless you are installing it over a vessel sink.
In that case, we recommend using one because it will help create a clean look around your new vessel faucet. However, if your sink is a double bowl or has a backsplash, then it will cover up the faucet.
Do I need an extension kit?
No, if you have a standard cabinet opening of at least 14″, then it should fit fine without any extensions.
If you have one that is less than 14″ wide, then we recommend that you use at least a 1″ extension kit. We offer many different sizes to accommodate various installations. Do not try to bend or force an unsupported sink deck!

How do I remove the aerator from my water supply line?
First, turn off your faucet and let it drain out any remaining water pressure so there’s no chance of being sprayed with water when removing the aerator.
Then, remove the screw holding the aerator in place; it should give you enough room to get your fingers in between. Once you’re inside, simply pull the aerator straight off and use pliers if you need help with a tight grip.
If I’m using this faucet over an existing vessel sink, what do I need to use?
If you are installing this faucet on top of an existing countertop/vessel sink, the installation is basically the same as above (minus having to caulk our putty).
However, instead of putting plumber’s putty around the sink deck opening, you will want to leave about 1″ gap between your vessel faucet and countertop so that water can drain out. Then, make sure your vessel faucet and countertop (if it is not already) are levels before tightening the mounting nuts underneath.
